chapter14 tutorial14_render_to_texture
i will implement this requirement next day.
one week has passed since i planed to write a blog to solve this question.
now, i will give an simple example to capture a bmp picture of the framebuffer.
the whole code is like this:
#include <glad/glad.h>
#include <GLFW/glfw3.h>
#include <iostream>
#include <glm/glm.hpp>
#include <glm/gtc/matrix_transform.hpp>
#include <glm/gtc/type_ptr.hpp>
#define STB_IMAGE_IMPLEMENTATION
#include "stb_image.h"
#include "shader.h"
using namespace std;
void framebuffer_size_callback(GLFWwindow* window, int width, int height);
void processInput(GLFWwindow *window);
// settings
const unsigned int SCR_WIDTH = 800;
const unsigned int SCR_HEIGHT = 600;
int main()
{
// glfw: initialize and configure
// ------------------------------
glfwInit();
glfwWindowHint(GLFW_CONTEXT_VERSION_MAJOR, 3);
glfwWindowHint(GLFW_CONTEXT_VERSION_MINOR, 3);
glfwWindowHint(GLFW_OPENGL_PROFILE, GLFW_OPENGL_CORE_PROFILE);
// glfw window creation
// --------------------
GLFWwindow* window = glfwCreateWindow(SCR_WIDTH, SCR_HEIGHT, "LearnOpenGL", NULL, NULL);
if (window == NULL)
{

}
glfwMakeContextCurrent(window);
glfwSetFramebufferSizeCallback(window, framebuffer_size_callback);

{
// make sure the viewport matches the new window dimensions; note that width and
// height will be significantly larger than specified on retina displays.
glViewport(0, 0, width, height);
}
the code of writing framebuffer likes this:
else if (glfwGetKey(window, GLFW_KEY_A) == GLFW_PRESS && cnt == 0)
{
cnt = 1;
cout << "dddd" << endl;
char * buffer = new char[54 + SCR_WIDTH * SCR_HEIGHT * size];
char header[54] = {
0x42, 0x4D, 0x36, 0x00, 0x24, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00,
0x00, 0x00, 0x36, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x28, 0x00,
0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x04, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x03,
0x00, 0x00, 0x01, 0x00, 0x18, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00,
0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0xC4, 0x0E,
0x00, 0x00, 0xC4, 0x0E, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00,
0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00
};
for (int i = 0; i < 54; i++) buffer[i] = header[i];
*(int*)&(buffer[0x22]) = SCR_WIDTH * SCR_HEIGHT * size;
*(int*)&(buffer[0x12]) = SCR_WIDTH;
*(int*)&(buffer[0x16]) = SCR_HEIGHT;
glReadPixels(0, 0, SCR_WIDTH, SCR_HEIGHT, GL_BGR, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, buffer + 54);
FILE * file = fopen("screenshot.bmp", "wb");
fwrite(buffer, 54 + SCR_WIDTH * SCR_HEIGHT * size, 1, file);
fclose(file);
}
you will find this code in the project we posted at the beginning of this blog.
there is another key point we should mind. the order of RGB or BGR. between framebuffer and bmp file.
then, i we run the this program, and press the key a, then in your project current directory, there will be a file called screenshot.bmp. we can open it by windows paint tool. the effect is:
there will be two shader files in the code.
the first one is 4.1.texture.vs
#version 330 core
layout (location = 0) in vec3 aPos;
layout (location = 1) in vec3 aColor;
layout (location = 2) in vec2 aTexCoord;
out vec3 ourColor;
out vec2 TexCoord;
void main()
{
gl_Position = vec4(aPos, 1.0);
ourColor = aColor;
TexCoord = vec2(aTexCoord.x, aTexCoord.y);
}
the fragment shader code is:
#version 330 core
out vec4 FragColor;
in vec3 ourColor;
in vec2 TexCoord;
uniform sampler2D texture1;
void main()
{
FragColor = texture(texture1, TexCoord);
}
over.
