1. Enabling Overrides and Performing URL Rewriting

1.1 Introduction

The mod_rewrite module in Apache allows us to modify the URL and resolve it to different resources. There are multiple reasons for URL rewriting, such as handling file location changes without breaking existing links and improving SEO by using friendly URLs.

1.2 Prerequisites

• A CentOS system with a working network connection.
• The system should be configured with the IP address 192.168.56.100 and running Apache.
• Administrative privileges, either by logging in with the root account or using sudo .
