Like first 3 chapters, Chapter 4 offers the detailed statement of the mathematics framework for GI. Several algebra techniques are applied to deduce some quite critical & useful maths tools for GI.
So obviously, this book is maths based, which is typical for research intentions, instead of engineering. This reminds me CLRS, which starts with two chapters of maths. Tough, challenging but fun.
From Chapter 5, all kinds of GI algorithms will be elaborated.. finally
p.s. The organization of the book could be improved a little bit, anyway
