1. Uniforms of Charles XII’s Artillery Officers
In the early 18th - century military scene, the uniforms of Charles XII’s artillery officers were a sight to behold.
1.1 Artillery Officer in 1705
- Coat : The elegant artillery officer in 1705 wore a coat with 14 gilded buttons that ran all the way to the bottom of the coat’s centre - front. There were four to five more buttons on the horizontal rectangular flaps, and four buttons on each of the wide cuffs of the trapezoid sleeves.
- Waistcoat : His waistcoat was made of blue cloth, featuring gilded buttons and golden lace along the centre - front edges.
