一、技术总结

1.symmetric multiprocessing(SMP)

(1)定义

Multiprocessing in which each processor performs all tasks, including operating-system tasks and user processes. Also, a multiprocessor scheduling method in which each processor is self-scheduling and may run kernel threads or user-level threads.

2.spinlock(自旋锁)

有时候也称为 “big kernel lock(BKL)”。

3.File System

(1)extended file system(extfs)

The most common class of Linux file systems, with ext3 and ext4 being the most commonly used file system types.

二、英语总结(生词：1)

1.impose

(1)impose: in-(“in”) + pose(“to put, to place”)

vt. impose literally means to “to forcefully place sth on sth else”; force sth to be accepted(强制实行，施加)。

注：一般来说，虽然 impose 暗含 forcefully 之意，但翻译的时候， forcefully 可不用译出来。

(2)示例

The original implementation of SMP imposed the restriction that only one processor at a time could be executing kernel code.(《Operating System Concepts》第 794 页)。

上面这句话的意思是：SMP的最初实现施加了一个限制：同一时间只能有一个处理器执行内核代码。
