First Day —— Business Etiquette Learning

 　　Etiquette is a set of rules that allow us to interact with others in a civilized manner, And treating other people with courtesy and respect and making them feel comfortable with you.

 

1. Asking someone's age is offensive to an American.
   对于美国人来说打听别人的年龄是不礼貌的。
2. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. So your Hair should be well maintained; face well shaved; ties properly tied； pants should not drag the floor; shoes should be polished. And no white sox, please.
   第一次印象只有一次，绝没有第二次机会。
3. Punctuality simply means being on time; punctuality is important in American business; Being late is a sign of disrespect.
   在美国商业中守时非常重要。
4. Exchanging handshakes is a vital part of doing business. Refusing to shake hands is an insult. If you are unable to shake hands because of illness or injury, apologize and explain immediately.
   握手在生意中是很重要的一部分。拒绝握手被视为对别人的一种侮辱。如果你因为生病或者受伤而不能和别人握手，应立即解释和道歉。
5.  A firm handshake is the only one proper handshake. Extend your hand, make sure the web of your hand makes contact with the web of my hand, close your thumb over the back of his hand; give a slight squeeze with your fingers; two quick pumps and let go.
   唯一合适的一种握手方式就是紧紧地握手。伸开你的手，确保你的手掌和我的手掌贴在一起，然后把你的大拇指扣在我的手背上，同时用其他手指轻轻地握紧我的手，很快地上下摇动两下后就松手。
