Installation Guide

* The easiest way to install development environment is that using XAMPP.

* Following the book (Building Websites with Joomla - A step by step tutorial) to install.

* One Problem about Upload Configuration, do following things to correct it

1. Edit PHP.INI (/ect/php.ini)

2. Change upload_tmp_dir = /tmp

* Good FTP Component for JOOMLA is Joomlaxplorer
1. install Quixplorer
2. and then install Joomlaxplorer

When upload local site to VPS, need to change Configuration file

Function Requirement

* Good website for adding extension to JOOMLA at http://www.extensions.joomla.org

* MP3 Player using 1pixelout player

* Uploading MP3 file, You should change "/administrator/components/com_media/admin.media.php" add 'mp3' into it.

* Download

1. Install JDownloads first

2. Install Content Download Plug-in

* PodCasting

1. Install Podcast suite (3 zip files, include Component, Model and Plug-in)

* Comments

1. EasyComments ( Component )

tar -zcvf aruno.tar.gz aruno/*
tar -xvvzf aruno.tar.gz

rm -f -r (remove all files includes files in each directory)

open site manger to install PHP, PHPmyAdSQmin, MySQL, etc.......

dump MySQL structure and data from other source to new Web Host

Got error here when import old aruno sql file into new MySQL db
the reason is should create aruno db first and then import

create user for aruno db

configure configuration.php

$mosConfig_absolute_path
$mosConfig_user (db)
$mosConfig_password (db)

$mosConfig_ (other stuffs)

I shut down 208.131.140.187/aruno web site
(I changed $mosConfig_absolute_path, check it out)

fixed IE display problem
