Installation SAP EP on Win2003

Summary：

SAP NetWeaver Portal is an Enterprise platform integrating people,informations and applications.Here is realy experimentation of NetWeaver(including EP)Installation on windows2003.

Environment we used：

Hardware environment used：（IBM T60）

    CPU：Intel（R） Core（TM）2 CPU 2.0GHz 1.99GHz

    Memory：2.00GB（Virtual Memory：8.0 -10.0G ）

    Hard Disk： 120G

Software environment used：

    Operation System：Windows2003 SP1，Static IP Address

    Java Version：j2sdk-1_4_2_11-windows-i586-p.exe

    Database：Oracle 10g with Release 1 ( 10.1.0 .4) Patch Set 2

   

   

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1.1    Software environment required preparing

NetWeaver required environment include hardware required and software required.This installation is a test cluster on a thinkpad with modle IBM T60 which detailed configure as:

 

Software environment included OS,JRE and database required.For this installation we used Microsft Windows2003 with Patch 1 as the Operating System, Oralce 10g with Release 1 ( 10.1.0 .4) Patch Set 2 as the database,Certainly a JRE more than version 1_4_2_11 for windows platform is necessary then.

1.1.1   Apply the patches for OS

After installation of windows 2003,We must apply SP1 to satisfy NetWeaver required. According to our test,it can improve its performance.Here displays the version of OS when finished applying:

 

NetWeaver Installationg need a static IP Address.A dynamic IP Address also result to some warning and errors we have known or unknown.So,to ensure the success of installaing,I strongly advise you to set a statice IP Address.

 

Password of OS administrator must not be too simple,If its length is less than 6,or not include number or letters,you may correct it here:

Then we can set the virtual memory to 8 -10G using this interface：

1.1.2   安装JRE

NetWeaver Installationg required JRE with Lowest Version 1_4_2_11。First we install the SUN JDK download or from SAP NetWeaver Install Disks：

 

 

   You can confirm your JRE Version here:

 

 

Restart your computer after finishing the JRE installation successfully according to its promption.

1.1.3   Installation of Database

To installing Oracle 10g and apply its Patch Release 1 ( 10.1.0 .4) Patch Set 2，you can follow these steps:

1、  Begin the installation of Oracle 10g :

  

2、  Select the location directory for Oracle:

3、  Leaver the default setting as,you can click “Next” directy.

4、  Oracle 10g installation will be completed successfully after about ten minutes.

   

5、  Click “exit” to finishe the installtion and open Windows Service from Control panel.Stop all the Oracle service to apply its patch.

 

 

6、  Double click “setup.exe” in directory of Oracle Patch,the patch installation touches off.

7、  If any error occurred during the applying of patch,you may correct them with your Oracle/database knowdedle which not included in Netweaver installation.

 

8、  Applying the patch will cost us about 5 minutes until you confirm the version is upgraded to Release 1 ( 10.1.0 .4) Patch Set 2

 

9、  Restart your computer to apply all of your settings.And then we can begin our installationg of SAP NetWeaver Portal

1.2    Install NetWeaver

It is the most important for NetWeaver Portal in this experimentation.you need not follow all these steps,but some important point we must pay more attention..

1、  Installation material preparing

The material wu used is from SAP when we buy.thes DVD Disks is required：

2、      Refer to the directory form ” Master”—“ IM_WINDOWS_I 386” —“ sapinst.exe”，Installation interface displayed after double click.

  

3、   Expand “SAP Installation Master”—“SAP NetWeaver 2004s”—“System with Usage Types”—“Oracle”—“Central System Installation”，then click“Next”。

 

4、  The system will ask you whether you accept logging you off to go on the installation,Click “OK” to log off,Log in with your password and begin the installation again.

5、  Repeat thes steps and select the same item.,Select the “Continue old installation”.

 

6、  Select“Continue old installation”，then click“OK” to go on。

7、  You may find that you have entered to select what model to install after about three minutes， “AS-ABAP”和“AS-Java”must be selected ad default and not deleted,As planning we add “EP” to our project and click“Next” then.

 

8、  Select the location directory or DVD with Lable “JAVA”,Click “OK” to confirm and “Next” to continue the installation.

 

9、  The installation wizard will detect our JRE directory automaticly,you can click “Next ” without any think about.

   

10、          Select the location of “JCE” file,If have n it,We must download it from SUN site.

 

11、          Enter these parameter:

       SAP System ID（SAPSID）：  ZWP

       Installation Drice：           D：

       Unicode System（recommanded） “selected as default”

As my picture displays：

12、          Select“Local Installating” as the domain model or installation.

      

13、          Inter the password of Operating System Administrator，SAP Installer Wizard will check your validity of credence.

       

14、          Leaves “Database ID” as default whose default value is the same as SID.you can click “Next” without any thinking.

    

15、          Confirm the “xml file” wizard Checked Click “Next” dircty.

 

16、          SAP NetWeaver Installation Wizard will checked all we select and list the worning or errors in red items,we can correct it if somes need edit.Click “Next” until all the selection satisfied.

Even we can click “Close” and “OK” to edit some of these paramenters.

Then we can correct our prepared e.g. reset virtual memory,reselect the items to install.Click “Next” until all the prepared environment is satisfied.

17、          Enter these paramenters connecting database ueed and logs location.

 

18、          SAP will create all the database in Oracle database,your must enter your credence to access databae directly.

 

19、          Leave the name and port as default and Click “Next”to continue.

 

20、          Enter the secure sort settings key  e.g.  crppawen14525418

 

21、          Enter SCS Instance Parameters or leaver as defaulot.

 

22、          Enter SAP instance parameters or leaver as default.

 

23、          Select User Managerment Engine type or leaver “use java database ”ad default.

 

24、          Enter J2EE Engine Connection passwords,e.g.  crppawen1234

 

25、          Select the location of Kernel DVD和RDBMS DVD,then click“Next”to continue.

 

26、          Edit or leave as default for Unpach Archives directory，Click“Next” to continue.

 

27、          Enter the System Landscape Directory or leaver “No SLD destination” as default to permit Wizard create.

28、          Enter and confirm the password for ADS e.g.  crppawen14525418

 

29、          Ok,All parameters we need to entered are all entered,A list will displayed to let us check whether all the values we entered are correct.We can always edit it untill satisfied.

 

30、          We can begin with our installationg wizard now.Click “Begin” to startup the installating course.here is the interface when installating under way.

31、          Now we need to wait with patient,It will finished after about two to eight hours if successfully.We can click “Finish” to finishe the course when installed successfully.

32、          Open the “SAP Management Console” we can find that the two servers are all running .

33、          We can access our Portal with a Web Browser using this url:

      http://IPAddress:50100/irj/portal （http://10.120.22.105:50100/irj/portal）

     The login page appeared.

 Of cource we can login with our passwords we entered during the installationg..E.g:

                Role : super J2ee Administrator

                Username: J2EE_Admin

                Password: crppawen14525418

34、          We have not done all the works until then.For some functions doesnot word as default when we finished installation e.g. KM(Knowledge Management),Collaboration Works.We must continue some configurations now.

1.3    Start &Stop servers

Open “SAP Management Console” from our desktop，Select “stop”or“start”on the name of  instance name with right click.
