Nokia Developer's Suite for the Java™ Platform, Micro Edition, Version 2.2 provides developers with utilities for creating and deploying MIDP 1.0 and MIDP 2.0 applications. New in this version are Nokia Developer's Suite for j2me integration support for Eclipse 2.1.x and 3.0 and an Eclipse plug-in for integrating Nokia SDKs into the Eclipse environment. Also new in this version is support for the open source Fedora Linux implementation. Other recently introduced features include a UI Designer for building user interface layouts and tiled layers for games, as well as application deployment to devices using Bluetooth wireless technology. Users can also create classes and application packages and sign applications using the MIDP 2.0 security model. Additionally, there is now support for application deployment to new Symbian OS devices and enhanced emulator integration support, including OTA provisioning. The Nokia Developer's Suite for Java™ can be used as a stand-alone product or as an integrated plug-in to Eclipse, Borland JBuilder, and Sun ONE Studio. Applications can be deployed to all Nokia Developer Platform SDKs with MIDP.
