Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: 11.2.0.1.0 to 11.2.0.1.0 - Release: 11.2 to 11.2
IBM AIX on POWER Systems (64-bit)

Symptoms

In process of Installing 11gr2 11.2.0.1.0 on AIX.  On the "Perform. Prerequisite Check" the following error is reported:

OS Patch:IZ52319 Failed

Cause

OS Patch IZ52319 is not installed due to it being superseded by IZ57031 and version 6.1.0.3 already has this patch incorporated.

For version 6.1.0.4 you may also see two more patches listed:

OS Patch:IZ51456 Failed
OS Patch:IZ41855 Failed

Solution

1. Verify maintenance level of OS to be greater than 2
    
   
   % oslevel
   
    
2. Install 11.2 and ignore error as the OS patch has been superseded by IZ57031
