Team Juicy Juice's Report One For The Past Two Weeks

在过去的两周中,我们讨论了游戏原型,确定了团队分工,选择了“juicyjuice”作为团队名称,并设计了团队LOGO。LOGO的设计灵感来源于新鲜果汁的制作过程,体现了我们工作的主题。同时,我们开始研究游戏原型和严肃游戏的概念,了解其在教育和培训中的应用,并计划深入学习相关书籍,如《For the Win》和《Reality is Broken》,以及游戏设计与实现的技术书籍。

During the past two weeks, we have talked over the game prototype, haven a division, determined team's name, designed team's LOGO and create team cards. 

We decided to use "juicy juice" as our team's name. We all like this name. When we considered the team's LOGO, we mainly paid attention to the key words like "juice", "drinks", "straw" and "colorful". Finally, our LOGO designer drew this cute LOGO. 

Our LOGO designer says, when we make juice manually, we select the fresh fruits such as green apple and orange, then we squeeze them to be juice and pour the juice into a pure global glass. The LOGO's meaning is obvious, we think that it primely fits the topic of our workshop.

After we went through the papers, we began to search the information about game prototype and serious game. Serious games ( SGs) are a category of video and computer games. Serious games can be of any genre, but the main goal of a serious game is not to entertain, Though they must do this. A serious game is usually a simulation which has the look and feel of a game, but is actually a simulation of real-world events or processes. The main goal of a serious game is usually to train or educate users (though it may have other opurposes, such as marketing) while giving them an enjoyable experience. 

To learn more about serious game and the practical significance of meaningful games, we will refer to two famous books:1. For the Win: How Game Thinking Can Revolutionize Your Business; 2. Reality is Broken: Why Games Make Us Better and How They Can Change the World.

What's more, only with the theory of serious games is not enough for us to design an interesting game, we should also know how to make an attractive gameplay. Therefore, we need another book——《Unity游戏设计与实现》.
