•  Lesson 1 - ECHO and Enviornmnet variables

           1. Echo off

               DVM will print out all the commands when running.

               we can added the @Echo off at the top of the .bat file will remove those

           2. CLS

               The command is used to Clean screen

           3. echo.

               If you want to print out "on window"

               then the command should be like

               C:/ echo on window

               but this time, it will get errors and print nothing, cause "echo on" is the command like echo off

               So, we need to change it as

               C:/ echo. on window

 

           3. set

               such as , in command window,C:/ set par=hello world C:/ echo %par% C:/ hello world

           4. Enviornment variables.

C:/CSW>set winbootdir=C:/WINDOWS COMSPEC=C:/WINDOWS/COMMAND.COM PATH=C:/WINDOWS;C:/WINDOWS/COMMAND TEMP=C:/WINDOWS/TEMP PROMPT=$p$g windir=C:/WINDOWS CMDLINE=start /min notepad HW.BAT SRC=C:/BKTEST TASK=Build fresh test folder

• Lesson2 - Using Child Shells           

         1. Open the Child Batch Window

C:/CSW> command Windows Copyright..... C:/CSW> // If not want to show the Copyright message, C:/CSW> command /k

        2. Exit the Batch Window

            C:/CSW>  exit

            if this is the sub window, then it will go into the uper batch window

        3. Parameters relationship between Child and Father  

            a. Child Batch Windw can define its own parameter, but not share it with Father

            b. Child has the copy of the paramerters of its Father

            c.  Child can override the parameters of its Father but not share wiht Father.

        4. Prompt

            a. The way to set the PROMPT

C:/CSW> PROMPT Child $p$g // then Child C:/CSW> // $p means display current drive and path to current folder, and the $g means display a > symbol // We can also use the following way to set Prompt C:/CSW> set PROMPT=Child $p$g // Then Child C:/CSW>

           b. Using the PROMT to ditinuguish Child with Father

C:/CSW> command /k // a new Child Batch Window C:/CSW> PROMPT Child $p$g // renamed as belows Child C:/CSW> // Exist the Child window Child C:/CSW> exit // Now return to its father C:/CSW> // to Set the Child window for only using a single command line belows C:/CSW>command /k Child shell $p$g Child C:/CSW>      

        5. Two special shells:

            a. Return-code Shell

               

            b. Debug-model Shell 

                C:/CSW> command /y /c ScriptName
