Ever looked around to see what executable files are in ur ppc's '/Windows/' folder? Everyone would mostly have common ones, but u might just have some interesting/unique ones, depending on the software u have installed. "How is this info useful to me?", u ask. Well, there are quite abit of stuff u can do here:
1) Create a shortcut to these applications/settings/etc: i) Place these shortcuts in the Start Menu. - e.g. U might like faster/easier access to ur power settings, so that perhaps u can view ur battery meters, so placing a shortcut on the Start Menu would save u quite alot of taps. ii) Place these shortcuts in the Programs Menu. - e.g. if u mess with ur Extended_ROM alot, u might want to place a shortcut to Loadvdisk.exe on ur Programs Menu. 2) Access settings/'specials' files: (which are otherwise not easily found) - U'll be able to access some stuff which is pretty cool = check out welcome.exe ![]() 3) Place these shortcuts in ur 'Windows/Startup/' folder: - u might like Transcriber to run upon each soft-reset (works like its the default input method). For more info, see http://www.ppcsg.com/http://www.ppcsg.com/index.php?showtopic=51859 The functions of these executables are usually fairly obvious: - E.g tapping on PhotoContacts.exe obviously opens the application 'Photo Contacts'. - still, some are not - e.g. tapping on tmail.exe opens the application 'Messaging'. - anyway, do have a look at the following to see which ones are useful: A) Applications .exe files: - calc.exe = opens Calculator. - Camera.exe = opens Camera. - notes.exe = opens Notes. - pxl.exe = opens Pocket Excel. - pword.exe = opens Pocket Word. - WTCVPres.exe = opens ClearVue PPT. - WTCVpdfV.exe = opens ClearVue PDF. - pimg.exe = opens Album. - shfind.exe = opens Find. - peghelp.exe = opens Help. - addrbook.exe = opens Contacts. - PhotoContacts.exe = opens Photo Contacts. - tasks.exe = opens Tasks. - wmplayer.exe = opens Windows Media Player. - Transcriber.exe = opens Transcriber. - PermanentSave.exe = opens Permanent Save. - Xback.exe = opens Xbackup - fexplorer.exe = opens File Explorer. - iexplorer.exe = opens Pocket Internet Explorer. - tmail.exe = opens Messenging. - SM_Mgr.exe = opens SIMS Manager. - jmm.exe = opens Midlet Manager. - instmsgr.exe = opens MSN Messenger. - repllog.exe = attempts to look for a host to sync. - auui.exe = opens O2 connect. - AutoConfig.exe = opens Auto Configuration Settings.
