Upgrade firmware on solaris sparc based on ALOM

1. Download firmware upgrade file, e.g. 139439-01.zip

2. use sysfwdownload to load the image to Service Processor(SP)

sysfwdownload Sun_System_Firmware-7_2_0-SPARC_Enterprise_T5120+T5220.pkg

3. poweroff the box

sc> poweroff

4. login console and make sure virtual keyswitch setting is in normal position.

sc> setkeyswitch -y normal

5. flash update the downloaded firmware image

sc> flashupdate -s 127.0.0.1
6. resetsc if sc is not reset automaticly.

sc> resetsc

 

NOTE:

The sysfwdownload utility is usually included in the firmware upgrade file.

 

Use sysfwdownload to verify the FM version.
