Set Matrix Zeroes
Description:
Given a m x n matrix, if an element is 0, set its entire row and column to 0. Do it in place.
Example
Given a matrix
[
[1,2],
[0,3]
],
return
[
[0,2],
[0,0]
]
Challenge
Did you use extra space?
A straight forward solution using O(mn) space is probably a bad idea.
A simple improvement uses O(m + n) space, but still not the best solution.
Could you devise a constant space solution?
Code:
class Solution:
"""
@param matrix: A lsit of lists of integers
@return: nothing
"""
def setZeroes(self, matrix):
# write your code here
if not matrix:
return
row0 = [False for i in range(len(matrix))]
column0 = [False for i in range(len(matrix[0]))]
for i in range(len(matrix)):
for j in range(len(matrix[0])):
if matrix[i][j] == 0 :
row0[i] = column0[j] = True
for i in range(len(matrix)):
for j in range(len(matrix[0])):
if row0[i]==True or column0[j]==True:
matrix[i][j] = 0
