THE TVS is a mail order business which sells video. Orders may be plaed by mail or by fax or by email or over the phone
Database strategy
TVS is develping a database processing system to support its business activities. its busy collecting data from a variety of sources and loading the data into its own movies database.
As part of its initial customer service strategy, TVS provides and enquiry service to (potential) customers who may contact a member of staff-in person, by mail, by phone, by fax, or by email- and pose any question which they consider relevant to their dealings with TVS.
Staff members responding these questions( requests for information) have access to an online information system. an interface has been provided which allows staff to run pre programmed queries and to enter parameters where necessary.
The information that is required to be held in the database will include A list of customers, a list of movies. To be able to answer enquiries it wil also be necessary to maintain a list of actors and some basic information about each one.
