Do you want beef or lamb?  选择疑问句，本句有两个选择，第一个选择beef 念升调，lamb 则念降调。

I like lamb， but my husband doesn't。  句中的doesn't 后面省略了like lamb。用but 连接的并列句，在后面一个分句中可以省略句中相同的谓语动词和宾语。
