First time to go to church

Today Database course partner ilho, the Korean guy, takes me to church. Besides me, he also takes a Taiwaness called Stan and an Indian Joesaph with him.

We drived for about half an hour then we arrived the church, not as glorious as I thought. It just looks like an ordinary house from outside. Maybe it's just a local church so not that brilliant as I watched on TV before. The church is located in North Bergen I think, north New Jersey. First, ilho took us to pastor's office. We met pastor Bob there, he also graduated from NJIT, so amazing. But when he was in these school, he said, the school was called NEC (Newark Engineering College). He asked us our religious background and why come with ilho to the church. I think what I said just make no sense. I have no idea about God and Jesus and my English is poor. Pastor Bob must feel funny to what I said. Ashamed! Really, I have been in America for about two month, but I don't think I made much progress in my speaking and listening. I still feel hard to follow native speaker or some other ones who are good at English, and have touble to express myself. Maybe I didn't try hard to learn English after I come to USA, even not as hard as I was in China I think. It's bad. So I decide to push myself to learn English now. Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing as much as possible. I don't want to be a guy who stay in America for several years but still can't speak English fluently. Actually, many Chinese here are like this.

Then I met ilho's wife. She is from Malay. She dressed Korea Costume today. Very beautiful clothes. In worship, they sang hymns. There are many hymns, simple songs, happy and are easy to follow. They also award to people who did a lot of contribution to the church, and a pastor did a presentation. The whole worship lasted about one and half hours.

After worship, we went to a chinese restaurant. It's relatively expensive, I order a course Orange Beef, which cost me totally $19 , my whole week's foods expense. Making friends cost a lot!
