Development Trends of Technology and Application for Power White Light LED

Abstract：LED is being used widely more and more due to many of its strong points, such as long life-span, energy conservation ,environmental protection,etc. now it is entering power white light LED packaging designing stage, and is expected to be able to substitute the incandescent lamp and the fluorescent lamp,in order to be used in family illumination commonly. The paper mainly summarized the development of gaining approaches、difficulties and resolvent that the chip and packaging design are facing both at home and abroad, including the comparison of development history and current situation of the packaging material and design model of LED, advantages and disadvantages,as well as the application of modern computer simulation technology in LED designing; and an expectation of power white LED in future application.
