For Mac system software deployment and management ,a train of thought is : InstaDMG---->DeployStudio---->Munki, which is now the best solution I believe.
For MCX, as many enterprises use AD, and they rarely consider to use AD schema extending for OD, so using Local Directory Service MCX will be better choice for them, especially for robust AD environment....
