Some people say that the only reason for learning a foreign language is in order to travel to or work in a foreign country. Others say that these are not the only reasons why someone should learn a foreign language

My Writing

I think everyone has its own reasons to learn a foreign language. However, most people learn a foreign language in order to travel to or walk in a foreign country, whatever your purpose is, it’s nice for you to keep studying a foreign language.

From my point of view, most people will choose English as the first foreign language to learn, including me. I love learning English because I met some good English teachers before, they guide my roads of growing up like a lamp. When I was in my high school years, I had trouble in learning English during a period of time, I secretly burst into tears and became distractive in learning, because of the coming of an vital exam, my English teacher noticed my dilemma, and gave me some guidance in private at that time, I was moved by her kindness and sincereness, I began to devote myself to study without any complaints, my efforts paid off, I got a high score at that exam. It was at that time that I believed I could get through anything as long as you put your heart into it.

On the other hand, my major is computer application and technology, so learning English well can broaden my horizons, because most of articles related to my research areas is  written in English. What’s more, we have got to read a lot of  documents and excellent blogs, but most of them are written in English, so learn English well is quite helpful for my career development. Furthermore, my tutor often told me to read English journals and do related presentations, he reminded me that English was really useful for me to do research. In addition, most lectures and workshops are all English related, I have to study harder in order to understand the contents.

When someone ask me whether learning a language is for work or not, of course I am, part of my reasons for studying a language is to find a better job, that is a kind of question of reality, I want to find a good job so I am here for the exam.

In general, I love learning a language, I am willing to learn about different cultures of foreign countries, I can get well understood of the foreign films,   TV shows, talk shows, etc. In short, it has more benefits though the process of learning is long and hard.
