Leo arrived at Beijing on Friday. He wants to investigate the market of his product in Beijing. Since he told me about his plan, I made a decision to take him to XiangShan as his first investigation destination. On Saturday, we arrived at the XiangShan. Due to lack of experience of marketing, I didn’t know how to help him to get his target. I just followed with him, taking his product samples. It took a long time to get to XiangShan. Since we both arrived here, we began our plan. Immediately, we found a grocery which sold the similar products. We stepped into the grocery, first taking a look at the products it sold. At first the boss of the grocery took us as his customers. When we took our products into his eyes, he got to know that we were salers. However, he didn’t look impatient. He took our samples up and down. And then he asked us the price of one of our samples. We said it took about 30 RMB. He thought a little time, and then said the price was too high to be hard to sale. We both got stranged, because we thought the price was not so high. He continued and told us that the price of most of the products in the street was less than 10 RMB. Exactly, it was a little disappointed. I had never heard worse message than this. However, we talked a lot about the products, and the boss gave us lots of advices. And then we left the grocery and investigated the other groceries. The answer we got were the same as the first one we investigated. With a little disappointment, we left the XiangShan for home.

Leo周五到达北京,计划考察产品市场。周六,我们前往香山的一个市场进行调研。由于缺乏市场经验,我们直接带着样品走访了多家杂货店。第一家店主起初误将我们当作顾客,在展示样品后得知我们的批发商身份。经过一番交流,店主给出建议并指出当地商品价格普遍较低,大部分不超过10元人民币,这与我们的预期存在较大差距。
