• Percentage of Module Mark: 0%

IMPORTANT: The FWCW is directly linked to other EAP105 assessments including In-Class Task 2 (ICT2) and In-Class Task 3 (ICT3) in semester 1, and forms the basis of the Project Writing Component (PWC) and Project Speaking Component (PSC) in semester 2. These tasks are worth up to a total of 60% of your module mark.

• Where to submit: Upload to the designated dropbox on the EAP105 Learning Mall Page

• Please remember that dropbox submissions cannot be changed once the submission deadline has passed. It is the responsibility of the student to check the correct file is submitted and that it can be opened.

Assessment Timeline

Semester 1, 2024

Week 1: Release of Task Sheet

Week 3: Submission deadline for initial business idea with rationale (Friday, 27 th September, 17.00)

Week 6: In-Class Task 2: submission of a Source Integration Chart (SIC) (Friday 25th October, 17.00)

Further Details

This FWCW covers the first sections of the Business Evaluation Report you will write for your Project Writing Component in semester 2. In-Class Task 2,submission of a Source Integration Chart (SIC), is directly linked to the sources you use in this FWCW.

Additionally, the Qualitative Analysis and Recommendations sections will be required for the Project Speaking Component in semester 2, when you will pitch your business idea through a poster presentation. For further information and details please refer to the relevant Project & ICT Task Sheets on Learning Mall.

Marking and Feedback

• You will be given an individual feedback checklist on this essay at the end of Week 10. You must use this information to prepare questions for the In-Class Task 3 tutorial sessions in Week 11/12 where you should ask your lecturer questions and engage in a discussion that will help you to understand how to further improve your FWCW task.

• You should then use this feedback to improve your writing in preparation for completing the whole Business Evaluation Report in semester 2.

• Feedback will be provided in line with standardized requirements agreed on EAP105.

• Individual marks will not be provided for this formative task.

Formatting Requirements

• File Type: MS Word. Doc or .docx

• File Name: EAP105_ProjectFWCW_Name_ID number

• Font Type: Arial/Calibri/Tahoma/Times New Roman

Please refer to the XJTLU Academic Integrity Policy on Learning Mall on the EAP105 module page for further details. Please note that Academic Integrity penalties change according to assessment types. The university uses Turnitin to check your assignments for possible plagiarism and collusion.

Lateness

• Work submitted after the deadline will not be marked and you will not receive feedback. This will then impact other related assessments such as In-Class Task 3 (5%) and the EAP105 Project (50%)
