• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

问题

• Best practice to mount an existing LVM LUN to a second server read-only while leaving it intact on the first server.

决议

• Best practice would be to use the hardware features of the storage to take a snapshot of the LUN and present that to the 2nd server

• This avoids below 2 issues:
  1) stops the original data being corrupted.
  2) doesn't crash the 2nd server due to unexpected updates.
