Red Hat fully supports persistent memory (pMEM) FS-DAX mode in RHEL 7.6 for Microsoft SQL Server on Linux

Intel Optane DC Persistent Memory devices provide data center-class persistent memory technology, which can significantly increase transaction throughput.
Persistent memory can be configured in one of the following ways for use by applications:

Block mode
-
Device DAX mode
-
File system DAX mode
The current status of persistent memory support and File System DAX for ext4 and XFS is as follows:
-
Block Mode is fully supported in RHEL 7.3 and later.
-
Device DAX is fully supported in RHEL 7.4 and later.
-
File System DAX as part of RHEL 7.6 subscriptions is fully supported for production deployments of SQL Server 2017.
-
File System DAX for ext4 and XFS is Tech Preview in RHEL 7.3-7.6
(see RHEL 7.6 Release Notes for more details) and is targeted for full support with additional applications in a future minor release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.
