本文提供了一种有效的方法来解决在Rational Application Developer (RAD) 中遇到的难以删除的项目问题。通过停止服务器、删除特定文件夹及配置文件中的相关条目，可以彻底清除这些令人头疼的项目。

I have been the victim of same frustration as you all have been. The solution I am suggesting here worked for me and hope will work for you ALL too. Good Luck!

1. Stop your portal test server in RAD/RSA.
2. Go to the location as below
<Your_Workspace>\.metadata\.plugins\com.ibm.wtp.server.core\configs\06_12_06_10_52_AM31-data\cells\localhost\applications
3. Delete the folders belonging to your pain projects (you can find the list of these so called 'pain' projects from "applications" tab in server config in RAD)
4. Restart your portal test server and you will see (for your surprise) the pain projects are gone.

Oops, sorry forgot to mention that you need to delete the entries for "pain" projects from the following files too.

<Your_Workspace>\.metadata\.plugins\com.ibm.wtp.server.core\configs\06_12_06_10_52_AM31-data\cells\localhost\nodes\localhost\serverindex.xml

<Your_Workspace>\.metadata\.plugins\com.ibm.wtp.server.core\configs\06_12_06_10_52_AM31-data\memento.xml
