误会

这个句型通常在事件发生的现场，因担心他人误会或他人已有所误会时使用。

我弄错、误解了......
I mistook your signature and thought this document was from someone else.
I mistook the address so I was late.
若是要表达把人给误认了的时候，可以用"I mistake A for B"的句型，
表示"把A误认为B"。
I mistook Allen for the manager and called him Mr.Harrison.
我把艾伦误认成经理，并叫他哈里森先生。

我的意思不是......
要解释自己的本意并非如此时可以使用的句型。
I didn't mean that this project was not planned carefully.
I didn't mean to oppose your idea.I just wanted to bring up my concern
about it.
我不是要反对你的意见。我只是想要提出我对此的担心。

我只是试着要......
这个句型适合用于向对方解释自己当下所作所为的目的和动机。
若是要解释已经发生的事情，只要将动词改为过去式was即可。
I'm just trying to be objective here instead of taking sides.
I was just trying to clarify the main problem instead of putting blames
on anyone.

这是指......
利用这个句型解释一个事件、特殊名词或是条件。It可以用明确清楚的主题替换。
It means (that) we will have to receive the advancee before sending
you the file.
这是指我们必须先收到预付款项才能将档案寄给你。
The sign over there means (that) smoking is not allowed in this building.

A:Lily,it's not what you think.I'm not speaking ill of you behind your back.
B:Aren't you?Then what was it about?
莉莉，这不是你所想的那样。我不是在背地里说你的坏话。
不是吗？那你说的是什么？
