Our warm welcome to Maui was just as you might imagine. My husband Joe and I were greeted by cheerful Hawaiian music, a gentle breeze and flower leis. My lack of enthusiasm about the 10-day vacation ahead, however, might surprise you.
I wasn’t at all excited about Maui. Instead, thoughts about my job and poor heath troubled my mind. Also, my parents would spend the vacation with my troubles. Thankfully, Maui’s magic soon relaxed and refreshed this reluctant traveler.

Magical Maui
Perhaps the immediate calm I felt was due to Maui’s beautiful scenery, friendly locals and slow pace of life. Or maybe it was that first cool dip into the ocean to snorkel with schools of brightly colored fish. Whatever it was, magical Maui made it easy to escape my cares.
From our beachside inn’s balcony, my parents and I relaxed and enjoyed one another’s company. From the deck of a sailboat, we enjoyed the company of sea turtles and an enormous whale swimming beside a pair of playful dolphins! (typed by 13yi)
