A networked world has provide a great many convenience to people who live inside; however, at the same time, people are heavily influenced by the side effects it brings along itself. It influences people from the following aspects: Reliability, Integrity, Inconsistency, Security, Privacy, Anonymity, Intellectual property, The digital divide and equality of access, Surveillance, Globalization and cultural diversity, IT policies, Standards and protocols, Peoples and machines, and Digital Citizenship.
From the reliability part, people needs to be cautious about whether there information would be interfered by others during the transmission, and sometimes the internet may not work at all;
for integrity, because of the different data type, people may lose data during transmission
for inconsistency, people may not be able to communicate with each other very well because of the misinterpretation of data and information over the internet
for security, people need to prevent being harmed by all types of virus
for privacy, some people may be interested in finding others' secrets across the internet
for anonymity, some people use fake identities to harm people
for intellectual property, as internet is so broad that people may easily get the knowledge that does not belong to them at all
and people may not access the exact same amount of data, because of the limitation the member to the website raises
for surveillance, people are easily being stocked by others online
for globalization and cultural diversity, internet helps to integrate the world
The great many social impacts it has on us has made us think about the ways we deal with it. As people grow to rely more and more on the computers and cell phones, their major source of information is on their hand and uncontrolled. Therefore, in educations, people need to be guided to govern their own use of knowledge and keep up their own good health.
