Steps to Change BI variable parameters

Here i want to describe how to change the variable parameters once the variable is created and saved?

We had a report requirement where we had created a variable for the IO with the properties - single value.

The variable is represented by single value, but according to our  business requirement, we need this variable to be represented by multiply  single value instead of single value.

Once the variable has been created, the definition of some parameters -- Technical name,Type of variable,Processing By,  Variable Represents etc can't be modified within Bex Query Designer.

In details TAB  of the Variable properties represents - single value. need to change it to Multiple single values as per the business need.

There are 2 ways in doing it

1) Delete this variable and create a new one with suitable parameter.
But what should we do if this variable already has been used within 50 queries ?

2) In this case we can use not recommended, but proper way - change these parameters directly via RSZGLOBV table.

Go to TC SE16 -> Table RSZGLOBV and enter variable's technical name in Variable Name (VNAM) field and select Vesrion : A. click on Execute button.

It will display the Record with our Variable name. select the variable and click on change button (F6)

In the next screen it is possible to change any parameter of variable. In our case we want to change Variable Represents (Select parameters in RSZGLOBV table) parameter.
Change the content of Select parameters (VPARSEL) field from P to M and save the changes.

Here Selection Parameters

P    Single value (parameters)
S    Selection option
I      Interval
       Default
M    Multiple Single Values

Save the variable entry .

Now we need to generate all the queries that use this variable.

1)Go to TC RSRT - > Environment - > Gen. Queries Directly.

2) Type info provider technical name with the queries to be generated and press Execute (F8).

If its been used in couple of queries you can enter the query and click on "Generate Query".

备注:修改后最好需要及时点击 Generate Query 进行刷新报表。
