Overview
This benchmark shows the performance improvement of 2.5.0 release.
Included clients
The following Java clients are included in this benchmark:
- Whalin 2.5.0
- Whalin 2.5.0 binary protocol

- spy
- spy binary protocol
- asfmemcached
- xmemcached
- xmemcached binary protocol
Environment (Schooner Operating Environment)
- Hardware
  - CPU: Intel Xeon 2.83G 8 core 64 bits.
  - Memory: 64G
  - Network: 10 Gbps
- Software
  - Centos 5.2 (both server and client)
  - Memcached 1.4.4 (server side)
  - Java 1.5-16 x86_64 from SUN (client side)
Test Scenarios
- Clean environment for each test.
- Warm server and client before testing.
- Use default configuration for all clients.
- 50% set then followed with 50% get. Average latency and throughput were demonstrated in the charts.
