Preface

What is a team? What is difference between team and group? In my view, team is a group of people trusting and supporting each other, having same vision and undertaking tasks together.

 

In early 2002, I was officially appointed to be S&D department manager to lead a team to develop software for the first time in my career history. Since then, I worked for various organizations and led various teams. To be honest, in my past team management, I experienced countless happiness and sadness. People and team management is not easy compared to technical side. I am always saying we can find exact standard and correct answer or solution to technical problem, but for people issue, the situation may not be such simple. There may not be existing clearly distinguishable right or wrong thing when dealing with people and team management.

 

In this article, a sister to my another article of “Road of Agile”, I will record down what I am thinking and more importantly what I am practicing in my current daily team management to commemorate my past fighting youth age and to guide my continuous fight in future as well.
