摘要:
There is a lot of excitement about HTML5, the next evolutionary step of the language that sits at the centre of how we develop websites and web applications. At the same time, there also appears to be a lot of confusion and misinformation. The confusion starts with the terminology: what exactly is HTML5? Strictly speaking, HTML5 refers to a single specification (the W3C HTML5 document), but it is often used - in a similar way to 'Web 2.0' or 'Ajax' - as an umbrella term that encompasses a whole range of new technologies from the open web stack (such as geolocation, which started off as part of HTML5 but was later split into a separate specification).
