ABSTRACT

Video surveillance system has developed from analog to all digitalized system. Because of the applications and covering range of the network video surveillance system expanding rapidly, it is very difficult to deploy, manage and maintain the C/S-based video surveillance system. The thesis studies network video surveillance system based on B/S structure and optimizes the video player embedded in web page for the convenience of clients to view the real-time network video by the browser.

According to the application requirements of system, the thesis extends and optimizes the functions of the video player. Providing a method of downloading ActiveX Control for different Windows operating system concerning with the cost efficiency of development. Analyzing the source code VLC and revise the mouse support function to implement the function of visualized control of video using Windows programming. Extending the Control interfaces and test the lost video frames.

The improved functions in the client of the network video surveillance system are tested. The results show that the ActiveX Control can be download steadily and securely to play video in all versions of Windows operating system by IE6 browser and above, the installation is simple and easy to operate, the function of video control is steady and users can control the video by moving mouse, and the operating is convenient. Comparing the camera frame rate with client frame rate, the lost video frames can be tested and it can be used to provide basis for the adaptive adjustment for the video transmission in the future.
