埃德·罗伯茨（Ed Roberts）4月1日离世，比尔·盖茨和保罗·艾伦联合宣布。埃德·罗伯茨是个人电脑的先驱，也是盖茨的第一位雇主，无疑是点燃微软帝国之烛。 

埃德·罗伯茨于1974年推出最早基于英特尔微处理器的个人电脑Altair 8800，虽然，Altair的生命非常短暂，却从此点燃了PC创新之火，并激发了乔布斯、盖茨等无数爱好者。作为第一个雇佣比尔·盖茨和保罗·艾伦的雇主，对于微软的地步起到了至关重要的作用。罗伯茨无愧于“PC之父”的称号。
