Unfortunately, most of the time, we are faced with these sorts of choices, or tragedies. and more unfortunately, most of the time, we are stucked in it and unable to get out. So, let us learn to get go something when it disturbs us. Calm down our mind , tear away those unnecessary thoughts, then there's a choice  leaves alone in our mind, that would be the best choice that we want to get the most.
