微软的BI stack总体分成以下两个group, 每个group具体的产品会在下面后续博文介绍，今天主要总结下Power BI的产品feature和优势。

• part of SQL Server suite of tools
• part of Office group

针对伴随SQL Server 2012一起发布的新特性：Power Query, Power Map(GeoFlow), Power View, Power Pivot, 其实这四个组件先前的版本已经推出，如今又以Power BI的名称出现，应该是和Excel 2013做了更好的整合，并且加入了Power BI for Office 365.

　　1. 谁将会用Power BI？

　　对于任何经常用Excel的用户，如果有self-service BI的需求，Power BI将会是有帮助的

　　2. Power BI 特性？ 

• Power Query:

可以search并关联外部Internet数据源或是企业内部数据。支持多种数据形式的源，并有数据转换和合并等功能，进而为后续的数据分析作数据准备。如：其中Merge等价于SQL中的left join；Append等价于SQL中的union all

• Power Pivot: 

在Excel中，创建复杂的数据模型，建立relationships, measures, hierarchies and KPI's。另外Power Pivot采用的是xVelocity in-memory analytics engine, 对数据有很好的压缩比，提供了比较好的performance

　　3. Power BI for Office 365

在准备完数据，建立数据模型，生成最最终的报表，希望share给其他同事共享/在线查看。利用Office 365保存共享报表，控制用户查看权限，确保safe and security。除了管理报表，还可以管理在Power Query中创建的queries，监控数据源使用请情况等
