本文解决了一个在创建变体层级时出现的System.ArgumentException异常问题，该问题源于无效的站点模板参数。通过重启SPTimerv4服务成功解决了此问题。

我遇到这个情况：

CreateVariationHierarchiesJob catches Exception. System.ArgumentException: File or arguments not valid for site template 'xxxx'. Parameter name: WebTemplate at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPWebTemplateCollection.get_Item(String strKey) at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPWeb.ApplyWebTemplate(String strWebTemplate) at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPWeb.CreateWeb(String strWebUrl, String strTitle, String strDescription, UInt32 nLCID, String strWebTemplate, Boolean bCreateUniqueSubweb, Boolean bConvertIfThere) at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPWebCollection.Add(String strWebUrl, String strTitle, String strDescription, UInt32 nLCID, String strWebTemplate, Boolean useUniquePermissions, Boolean bConvertIfThere) at Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.PublishingWebCollection.addPublishingWeb(String newAreaUrl, UInt32 languageId, String webTemplateName) at Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.Internal.CreateVariationHierarchiesJobDefinition.CreateVariationSourceTopWeb(SPWeb rootWeb, SPWeb varRootWeb, PublishingWeb varRootArea, VariationLabel sourceLabel, PublishingWeb sourceTopArea, CachedVariationSettings variationSettings, LongRunningOperationJob lroLogger, List`1 errors, Boolean& operationFailed) at Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.Internal.CreateVariationHierarchiesJobDefinition.PerformVariationsSpawn(SPWorkItem workItem, SPWeb currentWeb, CachedVariationSettings variationSettings)

重启一下SPTimerv4服务就好了。
