Windows CE OS通过FAT文件系统和可安装文件系统支持持久存储。在1.0版本发布前添加了对FAT文件系统的支持，2.10版本添加了对可安装文件系统的支持。当前微软开发工具包中持久存储支持多围绕可移动存储卡，第三方产品如Persistent Storage Manager可让内置闪存用于持久存储。

Persistent storage is supported in the Windows CE OS via the FAT file system and installable file systems.Support for the FAT File system was added just before the release of version 1.0.As the application base for the OS has grown,the need for new capabilities also grew.Thus,support for installable file system was added in release 2.10.Much of the support for persistent storage shipping in current version of Microsoft development kits is oriented around removable storage cards.Third party products,like Persistent Storage Manager,are now available that allow the use of built-in flash for persistent storage.
