Linux各版本与CPU的关系

1. i386 适用于intel和AMD所有32位的cpu.以及via采用X86架构的32的cpu.

    intel平台包括8086,80286,80386,80486,奔腾系列(1.2.3.4)、赛扬系列,Pentium D系列

以及centrino P-M,core duo 等.

2. X86_64 适用于intel的Core 2 Duo, Centrino Core 2 Duo, and Xeon 和AMD Athlon64/x2, Sempron64/x2, Duron64等采用X86架构的64位cpu.
(现在主流的CORE 2双核与 AMD 双核 基本上都是 64位的CPU了,但平民用的系统都还是32位的。CPU向下支持32位系统)

3. PPC 适用于Apple Macintosh G3, G4, G5, PowerBook, and other non-Intel models

    安装DVD包括的软件要比安装光盘多一些,安装DVD也包括了两种图形界面(KDE和gnome).
    下载 DVD 和 CD。DVD 包括了 CD 中 95% 以上的数据。
4. live CD介质,分fedora桌面(gnome)和KDE桌面
可以直接进去系统再安装.先体验再决定是否安装的类型.
i686 只是i386的一个子集,支持的cpu从Pentium 2 (686)开始,之前的型号不支持.

我的是INTEL 的CPU,每次下新系统 都是
直接找 I386 的DVD 镜像直接刻录的。
i386与x86_64应该可以这样理解 ,前者是32位系统适用的,
后者是 64位系统 适用的。
因为64位系统 下有很多的软件支持的问题,所以现在一般我们用的都是32位的系统。
不管 INTEL 还是AMD ,只要是X86架构 ,都可以用I386的镜像刻录 安装的。
