The article describes the case of a 50-year-old woman who developed severe neurotoxicity after receiving an intravenous (IV) dimethyl sulfoxide-preserved peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) infusion for multiple myeloma. Phenytoin was administered to the woman and was transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) for ventilation wherein he regained consciousness. After being extubated, the woman was discharge and was in complete remission 7 months after transplant.
