When I was in high school, I started to have fever and cough due to a bacterial infection. At the doctor's advice, I ate some antibiotics. They are very effective, after which the symptoms of fever disappear, but the cough still exists. Three months later, the doctor told me that this is chronic pharyngitis(ˌfarinˈjītis) and requires long-term treatment. Considering that the drug has side effects, I decided to use Chinese traditional medicine, which is considered to have fewer side effects. However, Chinese traditional medicine also has some shortcomings. The biggest drawback is that the taste is very bitter. Every time I drink medicine, I add a lot of water to dilute the taste. A month later, I found that if I use very little water, I can finish it once. Although the taste is bitter, the time is shortened. After insisting on drinking medicine for half a year, the symptoms of cough gradually disappeared. Now, every winter, I will pay more attention to keep warm and prevent illness, because it is really uncomfortable to take medicine.
