Spy, who bets one’s life to make a living

The top-advanced science and technology surely would be first put into military uses. “Weapons” used by spies during the cold war and the clever methods through which they steal secrets of the enemy, are rightly what makes the out-dated term “spy” for even today still a fascinating topic. As I mentioned above, spy, an extremely adventurous career, people risk their own life to make a living. Then what triggers them to do so? For money? Another possible condition is the diplomat felt so dissatisfied with the governor and meanwhile worried about his own future in such government, therefore finally decided to serve the opposite side.

Money and energy spent on the whole system of spies was unlimited. However, the information stolen from the enemies soundly proved itself valuable and worthwhile. With the devotion of spies that served KGB, Soviet Union have saved at least three years in the course of producing nuclear weapons. Exactly the same reason impelled US to make large efforts in sought of KGB spies shortly afterwards. Once the spies got caught, in most cases they would reveal all that they knew in order to alleviate their punishments, but there were some that acted differently. Some however, were not that fortunate, but whatever the sufferings from beginning to end, they did not say a word. Loyalty could be a reasonable explanation, especially for some high ranking officials. The other possibility, as I guessed, the spies believed that betraying their country to the enemy will certainly cost alike. Thus, they’d rather play the role of a spy in one country but award the credit of a hero in another.
