In order to run primrose, you need the primrose.jar file, a configuration file, and supporting JMX files.
Several download options are available -but if a first time user, we recommend the "All primrose downloads" option.
Primrose has been tested with Tomcat 4, Tomcat 5 and JBoss 3 on these platforms (all running Java SDK 1.4) :

• SuSE 9
• Red Hat 9
• Windows XP
• Windows 2000

The Standalone Primrose version has also been tested on these platforms.

Listed below are the dowload options :

NOTE : Windows XP SP2 users - this service pack is doing something odd to the downloads which we haven't worked out what yet ... if you are having download problems, use the "contact us" page and we'll mail you the downl oad.

• All primrose downloads (primrose.jar, support jars, and example config files) - recommended.
  

  Download the primrose core jar, the supporting jars required for primrose, and the example configuration files.   All Tomcat 4 files here (0.72Mb).   All Tomcat 5 files here (0.82Mb).   All JBoss 3 files here (0.14Mb).   All Standalone version files here (0.82Mb).     Note : The Standalone version comes with JMX version 1.2 and JMX Remote version 1.1 . If using your own JMX version, do not install these files.

• Primrose binary distribution (primrose.jar)
  

  primrose.jar is the file containing the core classes required to run the pooling mechanism. If this is your first time downloading primrose, we suggest you select the option below "All primrose downloads" because that will containe the supporting files. Download the Primrose binary distribution here (0.06 Mb)

• Primrose support jars (required to run primrose)
  

  Download the supporting jar files for Primrose. These jar files can be obtained from Sun here. Sun has no links to Primrose, but Primrose is reliant on the freely available Sun binary distributions. Or download the supporting jars below - make sure you choose the correct version. For non-tomcat containers, it depends if your container is running JMX, and if so what particular version, as the versions may conflict.   Tomcat 4 support files here (0.66Mb).   Tomcat 5 support files here (0.73Mb).   JBoss 3 support files here (0.08Mb).
