Android UI设计：一个文本框位置的设置

本人刚着手Android开发，请教一下，如何设置一个文本框位置，使其宽度等于父亲组件宽度的3/4，并将其添加至父亲组件（父亲组件按竖直方向逐个添加孩子组件），使其成为父亲组件的第一个组件并水平居中，结果是该文本框在水平方向上处于父亲组件左边源的1/8处至7/8处。

我想知道能不能在XML布局文件中，从孩子组件获取父亲组件的宽度值和高度值？
