ModuleNotFoundError: No module named ‘matplotlib.artist‘

C:\ProgramData\Anaconda3\envs\your_environment\Lib\site-packages\matplotlib

There will be two folders named as

~atplotlib

and

matplotlib

Please rename ~atplotlib to matplotlib

The system will ask you that there is another folder with the same name, so do you want to merge.

Select merge option.

In my case, this resolved the matter.
