Aservice application that cannot be partitioned is not a multi-tenant awareservice application.

ServiceApplications can be configured to partition data that resides in a singledatabase.

 

If you decide to keep allyour tenants(租户?) in one web application using differentsite collections, several new or improved site collection features are at yourdisposal:

➤Additional support isprovided for vanity domains using host header site collections (that is,

multiple root-level site collections within a webapplication).

➤Host header site collectionssupport managed paths. (For example, site collections http://

foo.com and http://foo.com/sites/foo for tenant A, and http://bar.com and http://

bar.com/sites/bar for tenant B can coexist in the same webapplication.)

➤Additional wildcard(通配符) is now available formanaged host header paths in SharePoint 2013.

➤Load balancer Single SocketsLayer (SSL) termination support is included.

➤The Windows PowerShellcmdlet New-SPSiteacceptsa parameter that enables you to target

a site collection to reside in a specific contentdatabase.

➤Pluggable custom code (SiteCreation Provider) enables you to enforce database organization

across all your tenants. This is basically to ensure thatif a tenant creates a new site

collection, that site collection ends up in the databaseyou want, not just following the outof-

the-box, round-robin algorithm.

➤Sandboxed solutions enable each tenant todeploy custom code to their own site collections.
