POSA4是一本关于分布式计算模式的书籍，总结了POSA系列前三部作品中的模式，并引入了114个新的分布式计算模式，连接了约150个独立模式及模式集合。本书旨在指导读者掌握最佳实践，构建分布式软件系统。

使用过ACE 的朋友应该对POSA2 不陌生吧。作为Douglas Schmidt的铁杆fans我拜读过Douglas 写的很多文章，教程，书籍 [POSA2, CNPV1, CNPV2]，从中我学习到了很多与并发和网络编程相关的设计模式和使用实例。

早在9月底 Douglas就发布了他的新书POSA4要出版的消息。

自然POSA4 也就成为下一个关注的目标, POSA4 的标题是"A Pattern Language for Distributed Computing".
正如标题中说的POSA4是一本对分布式计算中涉及到的模式的一个整理。“The book will guide you through the best practices and introduce you to key areas of building distributed software systems. POSA 4 describes 114 patterns related to distributed computing and connects another ~150 stand-alone patterns, pattern collections and pattern languages from the existing body of literature. These patterns relate to and are useful for distributed computing to the mostcomprehensive pattern language published to date.”

简单看了一下POSA4的目录，发现这一本厚书（有快600页）基本上是对POSA1，2，3中涉及到模式的一个总结。采用 Pattern Language 来描述两个模式之间的关系，如何来将这些模式组合成为一个具体应用。

如果把 Pattern比做是我们日常使用语言的词汇，Pattern Language就是我们这些词汇的例句。通过这些学习这些例句可以学好使用好Pattern。

我想POSA4是不可以来个别名叫分布式模式100句呢 :)
