My MEDC

MEDC(Mobile and Embed Developer Conference ) has successfully closed, which lasted for two days (from 6.21 to 6.22) I didn't get time to go to MEDC until Friday(6.22) afternoon, thus I missed the most interesting part of this conference, however , I still have something to share

Lunch

6.22 12:30 I arrived at Liang Ma He Hotel --the spot of MEDC without having lunch, fortunately the conference offers every guest two buffet lunch, Five restaurants were responsible for serving guests, by simply showing your ticket, you can enjoy your lunch inone of them, I went to a west food resturants in the first floor called "Hard Rock Restaurant", the main concept of the restaurant is music, especially rock music , the decoration of the restaurant is tightly related to its concept: Guitars and Photos are hang on the walls, also the background music is classic rock music.

It's really crowed when I got there, the big hall is full of guests who wore MEDC cards, one need towait in a queue to fetch what you want, but I have nothing to complain about, thefood are delicious

Hand on Lab

I attend a Hand on Lab on "Building Windows Mobile Data Solution Using SWL Server 2005 Compact Framework" given by two microsoft staff. Cause My main expierence is largely about desktop development, so it seems to me the development of Mobile Data Solution is similar to desktop development.

Using SqlServer 2005, by draging a database table to a new created dataset , we can create a datatable according to the database table, this means the datatable shares same columns definition and constrains of the database table, also the visual studio can automanticly generate Sql to select data from database and fill the datatable, then we can display the datatable simply by set the datatable as the datasource of a DataGridView Control (Excel like data display interface) on the interface, so easy. also it's really simple to enable our mobile application to edit those displayed data, with query builder provided by visual studio, even those who konw nothing about Sql, can create right Sql statement.

Another experiment Is guided by my colleague Zhang Yi Lei,on how to utilize WCF to build a store-and-redirect network application on Mobile Phone. Though the Compact Edition of WCF is limited, but we can still use it to build useful application like sending mail to server and download it to your mobile phone

Lecture

As a web developer, ajax is undoubtablely the most popular term in recent years ,Mobile development is not an exception, this was a Lecture about how to use ajax and jason to design web for mobile, in this lecture, speaker showed us many insteresting facts of new version ie for mobile , also give examples on how to make use of ajax and jason to promote your web's user expierence. but the example is not the newest version, and the content is also somewhat out of date
