IIS 6 Problem

You are using win 2k, so you have IIS 6.

I assume you have created the 3 virtual directories correctly in IIS.

Now, with IIS 6, right click on web extensions and add a new extension
called "cgi" and point to it to cognos.cgi (assuming you are not using
ISAPI).

Once it is added, select the newly added row, and click "allow". Once
you're done, i think you will be up and running.

Initally i had db issues...now all that is solved but i have new
issues with the installation. when i try the http://localhost/cognos8
address i get this error "The Cognos Gateway is unable to connect to
the Cognos BI server"

when i try the external dispatcher URI, i get the cognos connection
screen but none of the images are displayed and none of the links
work.

i'm thinking tat the IIS is not talking to tomcat properly. OS:
windows server 2003
db: SQL 2005
webserver: IIS 6.0
appln server: tomcat 4.1.27
